✰ welcome, welcome.

you're new here, aren't you? you have that look about you. like the proverbial deer in the headlights - but don't worry, you'll get used to it soon enough.
after all, you might just be here for a while. why not make the most of it?
the room you've woken up in - it's yours. pretty nice, isn't it? we want everyone to enjoy their stay here, and that means providing decent amenities. the beds are soft, the roofs don't leak, and best of all? it's free of charge.
it's all on us. you're welcome.
feel free to roam about - it's not like you're a prisoner, or anything. and there really is a lot to see here, so go on ahead, knock yourself out. have fun. explore.
but i wouldn't go too far, if i were you.
does that sound ominous?
ah, well. like i said. you'll get used to it soon enough.
.welcome to siaion.
surprise number two!
relocated yet again. at least when he'd been reassigned to colseit, he'd known what he was getting into. this?
he doesn't like the uncomfortable feeling in the pit of his stomach telling him that something is wrong, here. it feels too much like dread, too much like something he isn't prepared for.
which is why he'd needed to get out.
he isn't prone to claustrophobia – not in the slightest, having spent nearly all of his time back in central city in the atelier – but the idea of being in a new place he's never heard of without any good reason for having been taken away from the familiar hadn't sat well with him, and the excuse to go out and figure things out had been good enough that he hadn't put much further thought into it.
sometimes, it just felt good to walk. stretch his legs, clear his head. try … to figure out what in the world is going on.
he almost misses her when he passes by – head down, staring at the pavement beneath his feet as though the cracks throughout might hold some sort of answer that he's thus far missed – but it never seems to matter how far apart they are, because some tiny sense in the back of his mind sparks his awareness into high gear, and it's like the proverbial flip of a switch.
there you are.
he calls out to her before he approaches, even though he's already angled himself in her direction, voice carrying over the distance just as easily as if there were no space between them at all. ]
Escha – !
screaming!!!!
Escha probably needs the fresh air more than she realizes, but she isn't thinking about that. She left the little house she woke up in on the grounds that it seemed to unfamiliar, too much like a prison. Sure, it's nice to breathe fresh air, but it's still not the air from back home. It's not Colseit. This is not Colseit. No one here is familiar. No buildings look like the ones she knows. There isn't the familiar, lingering scent of apples in the air. Heck, she's not even sure there could be room for an orchard in a place like this, everything is so densely packed, as far as she's seen, and... just... It feels different, in every single aspect.
Everything is different. And that is terrifying. Maybe she should have stayed in place after all... Yeah. She's just about to turn around, to trudge back to that unfamiliar house and find somewhere to hide, but something stops her - a tiny feeling, a nudge of an inkling in the back of her mind, gives her a hint that she should wait. Just one more second, just a little longer, maybe she should lift her gaze up from the concrete and look around--
--there. It's him...!]
Logy...!
[They may as well have called for each other in unison. And any obstacles between the two of them go entirely unnoticed to her, because she's beelining for him as fast as her little legs will carry her.]
Logy! You're here!
c:?
the fresh air does wonders for his head – though he won't readily admit that it had been clouded in the first place – and even though he's found himself in a place that he isn't familiar with, it isn't completely unlike the moment he'd landed at the dock in colseit. it isn't central city, isn't anything close to what he's used to, but when faced with a challenge? he'll more than surely rise to the occasion, give it everything he's got just to try to figure things out.
( he can say that, now. now that she's been the one to drag out of him his own shortcomings, his own worries. he can never thank her enough for being the one to care so much for him, even when he hadn't thought he'd deserved it. that there were still people who would cry for him …
it's a thought better left for another time. he's past it, now, after all. no need to dwell on it, right? )
she sees him just as he sees her, and though there is still some distance between them, escha makes short work of it. one, two – and then she's there, within arm's reach, and he feels the corners of his mouth twisting upward into the semblance of a smile as she nears him, making as though to act like nothing at all is out of the ordinary.
( because deflection is the best sort of coping mechanism, isn't it … ? ) ] I'm so glad I found you –
[ he really is. you don't even know the half of it. ] Are you okay?
gdit heaven forbid i finally give her keywords :|
She stops just short of actually colliding against him, looks him up and down with wide, shining eyes, just to be sure that not only is he really there, but that he's okay. And once she's satisfied with that much, that's when she throws herself against him, fingers gripping at his shirt as she lets out a huge, audible sigh of relief.]
I'm okay. I'm really confused, but I'm okay. I'm so glad I found you, too.... are you okay?
you know i forgot i gave logy keywords .. and was surprised when i opened up his icon page.
you're the reason he has this newfound confidence in himself, after all.
his arms wrap easily, instantly around her when she finally comes close enough, and it's such a relief to know that she's there and safe that he lets his guard down. allows himself to relax just the slightest bit in her hold, leaning into her as though she were a tangible source of support despite how tiny she is.
( she is his support, tangibly or intangibly, and he's sure she has to know it by now. ) ]
I'm also a little confused … I don't understand how we got here, or why we're here, but – [ he hums, thoughtful. ] There has to be a reason for it. Things like this don't just happen.
surprise!!! lol
Escha will probably never fully grasp the extent to which she's helped Logy, but she knows one thing: without him, she never would have become the girl she is now. She may have helped him find his confidence again, but in return, he's given her strength in all its myriad forms. He is the reason she can constantly find it in her to go forward, the one who pushed her and taught her and helped her realize that life is so much more than she could ever have known if he'd never fallen into her life.
He helped her realize her dream, after all. And then, he brought her home again. Safe and sound. With him. She will never forget.
She practically nuzzles herself closer to him when he takes her into his arms. He might just feel her shaking a little - the relief is still settling in, after all.]
You're right. They don't. But... what could the reason even be? And how will we figure it out?
